Ironing~

I busted out the iron and the ironing board this afternoon and Sophia was completely fascinated with it. Can you tell it has been a while since I have ironed. I have maybe ironed a dozen things since we have lived here (3 1/2 yrs). She wanted to know everything about it, how it made the clothes flat, why is it hot, why am I doing it, everything. I am a huge fan of wrinkle releaser can you tell? Note to self, bust out the ironing a little more often so that my daughter will not be so fascinated with it.

What is my deal???

I can't figure out why I don't blog anymore? Is it the new dog? Is it work? Is it the kids? Is it just life? I really need to be better. The memories are slipping away....
A couple of things before I forget.....
- My baby girl turned 5 on April 4th....I never thought that she would would be my baby, I always thought that there would be more, so this birthday made me really sad.
We had a special time with both sets of Grandparents to help us celebrate. Sophie wanted to go to Fat Jacks and then eat cupcakes, and we did just that! She is such a sweet girl, I love her so much!
- Little Ricky Bobby is cute, but I have a two year old running around the house.(He is biting my feet underneath my desk as I'm trying to type, little baby teeth hurt!) The potty training is going ok, (I say the with some hesitation) My last potty training experience was with my Sierra (a Lab) that had only two accidents in the house in her entire life! So little Ricky is a big adjustment for me.
- Sophie likes to tell me what letter or number Ricky's poop is in the shape of. Usually "L's", "J's" or "7's" it's good to know.
- If you spend just a tiny bit of time with Sophie and Ricky you will know that they love each other completely. It is so sweet.
- Jesse won the Biggest Loser Competition! I'm so proud of him he lost 52 pounds in 12 weeks! Impressive I know. He is the most self motivated person that I have ever met. I remember telling him about this competition and I said I think we need to do it and he said "If I'm doing this thing I'm going to win it" and I knew he would. He worked so hard and really did awesome.
- Ohh, and I won the 2nd grand prize. I lost the most inches. 16 and 3/4 to be exact. I thought it was pretty cool that we swept the prizes. Don't ask us what our little town has given us, they are a little slow with the rewards. ;)
- For Spring Break Jesse and I got away for a couple of nights to St. George. Grandma and Grandpa were coming in town so we decide that we had free babysitting and we were out of here. We had a blast hiking around Snow Canyon State Park. The scenery is amazing. We hiked all but one trail in the park. (We think we are all in shape now) It was so nice to get away with my best friend. I had wonderful pictures, but I forgot the memory card...nice uh!....
- Grandma and Grandpa were as always the hit for the kids. I told Jesse that I think, and I know that Grandma and Grandpa can make our kids laugh better than we can. Even when I do my funny dance in the kitchen, it holds nothing to Grandma and Grandpa. My kids are so lucky to have such wonderful sets of grandparents that truly love them unconditionally. I am so grateful for that.
- My Dylan is so smart, he is a math whiz. He is now dividing, multiplying, and adding stacks of numbers like crazy. I am so proud of him. He comes home from school with little rewards everyday because he has been such a great kid in school. He is awesome!
- I love General Conference. It makes me so proud to be a part of this church and to be a part of such a wonderful thing. Jesse and I were traveling on Sunday down to St. George and we had the chance to listen to conference in peace with no kids or dog to distract us. I have to say I totally recommend this. I really got a lot out of conference and we both felt the Spirit so strong that we pretty much cried for the full two hours. What a neat car ride.
- The puppy has now crashed and is no longer biting my toes! Ya!
- I need to do better in a lot of things. Sometimes as a mom I feel like I live day to day with a constant list. I always make time to do something fun with the kids but I always plan it. I think that I need to work on not always trying to complete my list for the day. I felt so guilty today while I was doing the dishes Sophie asked me to look at something and I caught myself saying, "ohh ya that's neat" and I wasn't even looking at what she had to show me. I need to be better.
-I love my kids so much! I'm so blessed each day!

It happened~

We have a DOG!!! I thought that it wouldn't happen ever....but it did.....and from going to not even thinking about getting a dog to three days later having a puppy running around whew, crazy. My sweet husband caved and at one point I think that he was even convincing me! What? Jesse said that any dog coming into this house was going to come from him and it would go to his princess Sophie. Major brownie points have been given to Daddy. We found little Ricky and the kids couldn't be happier. It is a lot of work having a puppy (for me!) but it is totally worth it when I hear the laughter that this little guy has brought into our home. Dylan liked the name Ricky and Sophie liked the name Bobbie so his name is Ricky Bobby! Jesse and I wanted to surprise the kids so we drove 2 hours to look and him and hopefully take him home, and we did! Jesse loves this little guy and I knew he had some dog love in him. Sophie carries him around everywhere and tells him he is the king and she places him onto things and says, "here is your throne king!" It is seriously the cutest thing ever. Enjoy the photos of our new little buddy!
Side Note: Thanks to Grannie Joan for seriously putting the idea about a dog into our heads!! We love you!!

Months~

Ok, months are flying by now forget the days. Another one gone and I've posted once. I think between Relief Society, kids, husband, work, working out, and life, I'm a little busy. But that is no excuse! Better posting for March! I promise....
Photo: There has been time for a parade though, this is Dylan and Sophie's parade. Sophie lined up all of her stuffed animals for the "spectators" and Dylan drove his cars around that he had decorated to be the "floats". At least they entertain us right?

Nice~

I don't know if it's because we are in the month of love but I had an interesting conversation with the kids tonight over hot chocolate.
Dylan: Mom why do boys HAVE to be nice to girls and do things for them?
Mom: Well boys are supposed to be nice to girls.
Dylan: But why?
Sophie: Because girls are the best!
Mom: Boys are good too.
Dylan: But why do you have to do things for them?
Mom: Well because it's nice to do things for others.
Sophie: Like I feel proud of myself when I give someone something that I was playing with.
Mom: Yes! It's great to feel good inside isn't it...
Dylan: But I understand that boys are stronger and can reach things girls can't but why do you have to do things for them?
Mom: You just do....You know how happy it makes me when daddy does all of the laundry.
Sophie: Nodding..
Dylan: Smiling..
Mom: When someone does something nice for you and then it makes you want to do something nice to someone else.
Dylan: Like when I had to bend down and reach the baby wipes underneath the bed for you because when girls get older like you they can't bend down and reach things.
Mom: (thinking) Poor boy he has to live with a mom that has RA that doesn't want to bend down and I call on him all the time to get things for me. Should I stop calling on him so much? No! It will make him a great husband....(done thinking)
Mom: Yes that's right, it makes you feel good doesn't it?
Sophie: Loud Burp!
Mom: Laughing!
Dylan: Laughing and rolling!
Mom: It's bedtime!

President Monson Announces New Temple in Payson, Utah
SALT LAKE CITY 25 January 2010 A new temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is to be built in Payson, Utah, it was announced today by Church President Thomas S. Monson.

The new temple will help meet the needs of a growing Church membership in the area and will ease the heavy use of the Provo temple, which is one of the busiest in the Church. The Payson temple will bring to 15 the number of operating and announced temples in Utah.

It is less than 10 minutes from our house! I cried! We are so blessed!

OK, where has January gone?~

Where do I start?
We had a wonderful time in Arizona for Christmas. I remember the first time we spent Christmas in Arizona I had a hard time with it not looking like Christmas to me. I needed snow. Well not anymore! The last two times we have been to Arizona I have thoroughly enjoyed myself. The warm weather is such a great change from the frigid weather here that who needs snow on Christmas. Not me!~
We had a trip inside our trip this year, Grandpa took us on another adventure. The sand dunes! We were right on the border between California and Mexico. We rode the ATV's right by the huge steel border fence. We had a blast riding the hills and mountains of sand. I was so proud of my Dylan, he went out with us on the sand for a long ride. I told him just to follow grandpa and he did awesome up and down the hills it was great.
We are back in the routine quite well now. It's always hard to get back in the swing of things after a nice vacation. We went to SEP's last week for Dylan and of course he is above normal with his reading and his teacher just loves him. She wrote me the nicest note that said she wished that she could have a classroom full of Dylan's. She said that her job would be so easy if that were true. He is such a hard worker and we are so proud of him. Sophie is doing great too. She is so proud of herself when she talks to her teacher. We stop on the way home from preschool and get her a treat if she talks to her teacher or answers a question. She told me that when she talks she just wants to talk more and more. She's coming along! She is obsessed with us getting a dog. We are not getting one anytime soon but she always says when we have our dog I'm going to do this or that, it is so cute. Yesterday she told me that we need a truck and I said we do? Yes! We need it so that we can take our dog for a ride! She is such an animal lover....
I have a new calling at church that is keeping me very busy but I am enjoying it. Jesse and I are trying to get healthy, we signed up for Santaquin's biggest looser and it has been fun. Jesse is a mad man now about healthy food and I knew if I got him to do it with me I would stick to it. He is such a self motivator that he is determined to win it all! I hope he does!!
