Fall fun~

We have had too much fun this past week. Grandma and Grandpa from Arizona came to visit for a week. They are so much fun to have here, the kids are in heaven. They are such great grandparents they love to play games, tickle, go fun places, get their hair done, and much more. We started the weekend by hiking up to Timpanogus Cave. Jesse thought it would be so fun. I had never been so I was excited to go too. Little note about the hike it's a tough one. The kids did amazing, so did Grandma and Grandpa. They did better than we did. But it is worth the hike the cave is really cool. The Park Ranger said right before we went into the cave, now nobody is scared right? Dylan's face was hilarious, his eyes went really big and sudden panic came across his face. We assured him that it wasn't scary and he would love it. The cave was really cool and I kept telling the kids that we were inside of the mountain and it was a hard concept for them to grasp. Then on Sunday we took a drive on the Nebo loop, so pretty. I love this time of year. Sophie got to have Grandma and Grandpa go on a field trip with her to the apple factory. She loved having them with her. The fun just kept going with the movie, Cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Cute movie, it reminded me of Dylan with all of his engineering projects that he does. Then a super yummy lunch at five guys. We were full the rest of the day. Yum! Next Dad took Friday off to come and play with us, I think he was feeling left out. On to Cornbelly's at Thanksgiving point. Super fun for the kids. They had a great time! They LOVED jumping on the giant pillows, the scary hay ride, the huge pits of corn, and the corn maze. We sure enjoyed our visitors and just being with our cute kids! Happy Fall!

Ohh, one more thing, my father-in-law let me drive his new corvette.....my cheeks hurt after I drove it....I was smiling the entire time...100mph on the freeway....ohh ya!!

Holy Cow~

1)I can't believe that it has been 3 weeks since my last post. I guess we have been busy. JW and I are project do'ers. We like to make lists and get stuff done. We usually spend the whole weekend doing it but it does get done. We work really well together, I always say that we are a great tag team, when he starts to get frustrated that's is my cue to step in and take over. But after the entire summer with the basement and the fall and summer the year before that on the yard I'm tired of projects....We checked off a big one this weekend though...The Garage!!! It is spotless, now I won't be embarrassed when the garage door opens and I hurry and drive in and close it...In fact today I left it open for all the world to see.

2)I love this time of year. I could really live in this weather all year long. I love summer and the pool but there is nothing better than crisp fall air. I even made apple crisp last night for dessert. (my favorite!) We went to Payson Lakes last Sunday. It was so beautiful and the colors were amazing. We packed a picnic and walked around the lake. The kids loved it. Sophie chased squirrels and Dylan was finding the biggest rocks to throw in the water. I of course made sure everyone had a jacket but I managed to forget one for me. It was a little chilly! While we were eating we heard a gun shot about every ten minutes or so, the deer hunt is upon us and the whole time I was hoping that the hunter had missed.

3) This last thought is about conference. I love to watch it. I haven't always been that way. I remember times when I was not going to church and I would know that it was conference weekend I would try everything not to see it on TV. I think that I knew that I should be watching it. Well people change and the gospel can do that for people, it has done it for me. I love this gospel and I remember the days when I didn't have it. When I didn't have the spirit with me. My life was lost. I was lost. I have purpose now. I have a divine purpose. I have an eternal companion, not just until I die. I love him more than just till I die, I love him to eternity! (and back) My kids are with us forever, and I will do all that is in my power to keep them close to the Lord. It is my job, and I love it!

Our new Pet~

We have a new pet at our house. He's small and furry! We don't need to feed him, he finds food himself. He's not allowed in the house. He is really low maintenance. He showed up at our door today and we might just keep him.....maybe not! I wouldn't let JW kill him, how often do you see a tarantula wandering around. Here he is...

Several Things~

My Sophia started preschool two weeks ago and the wonderful mother that I am just finally took a picture of her TODAY! Isn't she cute! ;)

These are the things that I fished out of Dylan's shorts the other day. What a boy! I'm usually too lazy to go through pockets but, today I'm glad I did....

As if Sophie's Princess castle couldn't get anymore girly, she found a way to put some more "bling" on it. So cute!

Can you imagine the reaction from me at 9:45pm from this little prank my son did in my bedroom. I might have said a bad word... Stinker...

I think we are getting into the swing of school, preschool, homework, running every where quite nicely. I'm getting into my grove pretty good and so are the kids. I think I'm ready for another vacation, it that bad? We all have the camping bug going on. Dylan plays camping everyday and Sophie wants to go in Grandpa's trailer again. I just want to be in the mountains and feel that peace of nature. Ahhhh....until next time....

What's a Mom to do~

My pickle wickle has been in 1st grade now for 8 days and my heart hurts for him. I'm sure there will be many more moments that I will want to scoop him up and bring him home and keep him safe with me. So far he loves and I mean loves the whole concept of School Lunch. He loves that we pick out the days that he is having School lunch and the days that he is having home lunch. He tells me that it is the best lunch that he has ever had! (everyday!) He loves recess and really who wouldn't. He loves to play with all of his friends. He is such a good boy that his teacher has never put a clip next to his name (a clip is a bad thing). I thought that we should celebrated his first week in school, so we had a special "Dilly Day" on Friday and we went swimming and then went home and ate pizza and watched a movie. He loved it. He has had a hard time with the adjustment from Kindergarten to 1st grade. He loved that Kindergarten was just half of the day and 1st grade is just too long. I mean really he is just six I think that it probably is too long. He cried one night to me that he just wants to come home and play. He has also been lost in the school twice now and for his sake his school is a maze. I have gotten lost in there and I had to ask for help from a student. Today I picked him up and he is on the verge of tears and I said what's wrong he had taken a wrong turn and lost his class. They were playing outside when the bell rang to go home and he got lost going back to his class. I just felt so bad for him. He has also had a boy in his class bugging him. Whenever he lines up for something this boy kicks him in the behind. Dylan tells him to stop and has even told his teacher but this boy is still bothering him. The mom in me wants to find this kid and tell him to be nice or he is going to sit in time-out. I tell Dylan to tell him in a loud and stern voice to leave him alone. But it doesn't work. The poor kid was also yelled at by a 3rd grade girl that he was taking a drink in the drinking fountain for to long. I think that maybe I made him be too nice his whole life and now I wish he had a little bit of "mean" in him. I know these are very small things and I will have to go through more difficult things the next 12 years he is in school but he's my first and my baby and I want to protect him. This too shall pass, I'm sure in like a week, but today I hurt for my buddy...
